The Yoga Practice Goes On!
Hi, everyone! That brief message you got on Tuesday was meant for my weekly reminder list. Ooops! But I haven’t written to you (on purpose) since April, so here’s what’s going on:
I am still teaching twice a week at Balanced You and still asking you to make reservations at https://stillgarden.com . If you’re a regular attendee, I recommend signing up for the ‘weekly reminders’ list there so you get emails from me twice a week.
The Gentle Yoga class is Tuesdays from 5:30-6:45pm. Y’all think of this as the ‘easy’ class because it has more stillness and sitting down.
The Mindful Yoga class is Thursdays from 6-7:30pm. This is the ‘hard’ class because it has more strengthening and endurance, but still will stretch and relax you.
Making a reservation is a simple process - you don’t have to login or prepay or anything. You just pick which day you’re coming, tell me your name and your email address, and hit the Reserve button. If you need to cancel, just let me know via email or text (or other messaging).
We all do still ask that you be fully vaccinated vs COVID if you’re coming since there are vulnerable folks among us — plus we don’t want you to get sick either. We are not, however, currently requiring masks in the class.
About 50 of you still have class credit with me (some from over 10 years ago!)
Replying directly to these emails will just go to me.
Some of you may remember that Balanced You in the summer used to be a bit warm. The new HVAC can keep up with 80+F heat now. Yay! Very comfy.
On a personal level:
We went to Arizona in May, where I learned that a dry heat is STILL VERY HOT. I’ve never drunk so much water. I also learned that I get motion sick in helicopters. Sedona and the Grand Canyon were so very beautiful. I also really enjoyed everything named after Montezuma.
Our home HVAC stopped working about the same time the BY HVAC got swapped. So our FIFTY YEAR OLD air conditioner has now been replaced with a much more energy efficient heat pump. (Apparently it’s true that nothing stops a Trane….) Our (much younger) gas furnace is also gone.
We’ve still managed not to get COVID so far as we know, despite the silent surge that’s happening right now, but mostly the only people I see are you guys, though we do go out to eat occassionally. I’ve had a hard time finding N95 masks that work with my giant head for extended periods, so I feel pretty lucky after those 4 flights to AZ and back. I still love my surgical masks, since I can talk and teach in them when I need to.
Our four kitties are doing well, despite ‘the kittens’ being 14 and 13.
My day job is keeping me busy and fed. I hope that this teaching schedule will last for years, so I don’t suggest waiting for me to start teaching again at the still-lovely Glowing Body.
namaste,
judson
p.s. I’ve added a footer to this newsletter, so if I ever accidentally email you all again, you’ll still have the links you need to make your reservations!
